Dogs can begin their vacation at Dorado Beach by accompanying their owners on a morning kayaking excursion led by the team of marine experts at Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment. Comfort and safety are  priorities with pre-sized dog-friendly rash guards and life jackets available for a variety of canine explorers. After a busy afternoon of playing fetch on the white-sand beach and swimming in the turquoise sea, both guests and their dogs can relax with an in-room massage, courtesy of the on-property restorative Spa Botánico. Essential oils of the guest’s choosing are combined with herbs like lemongrass and bay leaves, which are picked daily from the resort’s garden.

The resort’s team of award-winning chefs have created healthy house-made dog food with gourmet ingredients, including fresh vegetables, free-range chicken and beef to ensure that dogs are always well fed during their time at Dorado Beach. Dogs can also indulge in late-night hand-made treats brought directly to their guestroom or suite.

For some quality bonding time, dogs and their owners can dive into their private suite plunge pool overlooking the palm-dotted coastline or take a relaxing bike ride using specialized bicycles. Situated on 1,400 acres of lush land, the resort and the historic Rockefeller Nature Trail offer the perfect way for dogs and humans alike to explore the natural beauty of Puerto Rico and experience all that Dorado Beach has to offer.

The resort welcomes pets weighing 30 pounds or less in their guestrooms and suites with a one-time $250 pet cleaning fee.
