Blue Chalcedony is a stone of personal care and wellness. The color is a range of blues, most commonly seen as pastel blue, and flowing lines created by the inflow of liquid and gases in cavities where this stone was created.
Generally, gemstones affect people in four key ways:
- Color. All of us feel and receive energy from color.
- Mineral makeup. Iron brings forth a different element than magnesium or calcium, for example;
- Structure, referring to how the pieces are arranged and what forms they become as crystals;
- Creation. Volcanically formed rock has a completely different form of power than a stone that was formed by weathering and disposition.
All four of these factors determine the effect of the stone. As you can start to understand, gemstones do have more of an evolutionary phenomena to them: one for the scientist, one for the massage therapist and for the wellness director. All seem to have a different attraction, and all is good.

According to gemstone specialist Monika Grundman, Blue Chalcedony is considered a stone of restoration and detoxification, as well as for stimulation of lymphatic flow.
Blue Chalcedony Stone Benefits
Hildegard von Bingen, an 11th century mystic, teacher, writer, healer, visionary and practitioner, described Chalcedony as a stone for orators. She used the Blue Chalcedony gemstone during her healing treatments.
Spiritually, Blue Chalcedony promotes the presence of mind and good communication, as well as easing nervousness and stress. It can help someone accept new situations and overcome mental resistance, especially while allowing the gemstone to work its magic.
Blue Chalcedony can boost inner tranquility while relaxing the body, allowing all tension to just float away.
This stone can also help people express themselves in a more powerful way. The chalcedony assists listening skills, too, which in turn helps boost self-confidence. This stone can be used in a bath with any oil, added herbs, spices or other tinctures.
Blue Chalcedony in the Spa
As a healthy component to a spa treatment, Blue Chalcedony bolsters the energy in the 5th chakra. Thus, it is a powerful stimulant for lymph flow, expelling waste from the body. This stone is great for lymphatic drainage treatments. Blue Chalcedony is especially good for the lymph glands of the throat. This is why I like to add it in my facials, or any other gemstone body ritual.
Blue Chalcedony can be a powerful gemstone in spa treatments. It is part of our facial protocol, and used to massage the throat. We also use it as a placement stone while you continue with the treatment. I leave the Chalcedony on the lymph nodes below the collar bone and on the thymus. When using this tumbled stone, massage the throat with very delicate stationary circles from the ear lobes, down over the throat, toward the hollow of the collarbone, working down to the area under the arm, leaving the stone lying there.
Repeating this movement several times will stimulate the lymph flow and prepare the client in the optimal fashion for the facial massage. (This is where I might suggest a scalp treatment.)
Best of all, the lymphatic drainage treatment can be included in a facial, massage, body ritual or as a stand-alone treatment on the menu; since lymph nodes are all over the body, this stone can be used in a variety of ways.

Additionally, a massage done with Blue Chalcedony provides stimulation and can be used as a complete treatment on its own. For example, you might consider a Gemstone Poultice Treatment using the Blue Chalcedony as a complement to the massage.
Gemstone crystals for meridian massage, body rituals, facials, reflexology and acupressure are a powerful addition to your menu. You might consider a chakra layout of stones including Blue Chalcedony as well.
Remember, like most stones, you may apply it directly to the body, use the energy in a layout or arrange the stones in a meditation stone circle. Gemstone water or gemstone oil can also be a great way to receive this gem's energy.
Find a place to enjoy the gemstones in your world, in your work and in your personal attractions.
