The beauty destination has had no shortage of milestones over the past four decades: Mazzei, along with his friend and collaborator Leland Hirsch, developed haircare brand ARTec Worldwide, which was purchased by L’Oreal in 2002; the salon was featured in ELLE, GLAMOUR and the 1985 movie Desperately Seeking Susan; nuBest is also known for its community service, having teamed up with a number of charities; and finally, it’s a fave among celebs, including Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Adrienne Bailon, Christine Evangelista, Emma Slater, Paula Garces and Kym Johnson—just to name a few.
“Celebrating nuBest’s 45th anniversary feels like a dream. It has been an incredible experience to witness firsthand how the salon has evolved over the years,” says Mazzei. “I am so proud of what my family and I have been able to achieve with nuBest—we have created a community for our clients, with the help of some of New York’s best stylists.”
And nuBest shows no signs of slowing down. The next generation of the Mazzei family—including Jamie Mazzei, Vincent Cascio and Christian Fleres—promises to continue the company’s legacy of innovation and trendsetting reputation.
