Village Yoga in Franklin, Michigan celebrates their 3rd anniversary by recommitting itself to the community. The studio will be giving away a full scholarship to any yoga practitioner who has the desire, but lacks the financial resources to pay for, the 200 Hour Teacher Training, beginning August 27th. Along with the scholarship, the weekly studio schedule offers three “by donation” classes, Gong Meditation, Fri-nally Fridays and a specialty of the studio, a Recovery Yoga Class.
The Scholarship for the Teacher Training, Yoga Alliance Certification, is for a highly prized spot out of only 12 participants being accepted to this 4-month program. The trainers believe that the price of $2500 excludes many from the ability to take the training due to lack of funds. The selected participant receives the training in full with an unlimited yoga package. All participants will commit to approximately 4-6 hours of course per week, with a strong emphasis on philosophy, adjustments and alignment. Andy Brock, a lead teacher, commented, “Village Yoga YTT is unique because the focus of the experience is intended to be one of growth rather than one of achievement.” Books and other necessities are not included. The Syllabus, Schedule and Application can be found at here.

The wildly popular Recovery Yoga returns to the schedule on Friday, August 18th at 6:30pm. Hundreds of sufferers from chemical dependency and their loved ones have filled the space to capacity, relishing the camaraderie, support and the outstanding yoga. Inspired by Y12SR, Yoga for the 12 Steps of Recovery, students practice an uplifting hour of yoga followed by a half-hour sharing circle. All are welcome to attend.
Overall ease washes over participants at the weekly Donation Gong Meditation. Offered every Wednesday evening at 7:30pm, this energetic “tune-up” allows for deep relaxation, stress reduction, increase in overall energy and motivation, and improves mental and emotional clarity to all those in attendance.

Donation “Fri-nally Friday” Yoga is offered on Fridays at 4:45pm. This community yoga class is taught by various teachers taking turns leading the class each week. The style of yoga is dependent upon the community of students that show up for class. A great way to end your week right!
Auricular Acupuncture is available by reservation during Donation Gong Meditation. Proven to ease anxiety and other symptoms associated with chronic disease and opioid withdrawal, certified Acu-Detox Specialists administer this treatment for a very affordable $10.
The “donation based” classes are free with donations gratefully accepted to help support the teachers.
