The World Food Travel Association (WFTA), a nonprofit focused on on culinary and gastronomy tourism, has appointed Patrizia Bortolin as its global co-ambassador for Wellness Tourism.
Bortolin is the spa concept designer and wellness alchemist at Preidlhof, a destination spa in South Tyrol, Italy. She is passionate about sustainable wellness, and she works to help Preidlhof guests attain a more creative life through sensorial integration using colors, aromas, sound and touch. Through Transformational Wellness Retreats, they enjoy mindful eating and sensory analysis classes.
“It’s time for hotels to invest in cross-functional training between wellness experts and F&B departments, and to use the ‘art of eating’ to get healthier in a happier way, while also expanding new skills and motivation for everyone,” said Bortolin. “I am delighted to be joining the WFTA team! It’s a wonderful role that brings together two of my great passions—food and travel—and there are opportunities to make wellness much more integral to the experience of both. We have some exciting projects planned!”
