Performance Health recently announced Nicole Bucar, TheraBand Associate Product Manager, as a member of The Massage Therapy Foundation’s Running for Research Team (TEAM MTF) participating in the 2016 Boston Marathon.

“We are very pleased for this opportunity to support the mission of the Massage Therapy Foundation,” said Marshall Dahneke, Chief Executive Officer, Performance Health. “And we are delighted that Ms. Bucar was selected to be part of their 2016 Running for Research Team. I know she’ll make us all proud when she successfully completes this demanding competition – even prouder than she’s made us already by taking on the challenge.”

“I am thrilled to be representing the Massage Therapy Foundation and grateful for this opportunity to help bring more awareness to the benefits of massage and the need for more massage research funding,” added Nicole Bucar. “As a runner, I know the value that massage therapy brings to my training regimen. Injury prevention, injury treatment, improved flexibility and recovery are reasons I regularly invest in massage therapy. Running is hard on the body, and whether I’m receiving deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy or relaxation massage, the treatments’ benefits are enormous to both my wellbeing and training. I know that massage therapy is just as important to my training as the progressive runs I schedule over a four or five month training bout.” Follow Ms. Bucar’s journey at https://runningwithnicoleblog.wordpress.com.

“Massage therapists play a big role in the Boston Marathon by helping athletes at all levels prepare and recover from this great event,” said Massage Therapy Foundation Board President, Jerrilyn Cambron, LMT, DC, MPH, PhD. “We are so grateful to once again be included among the many organizations participating in the John Hancock Non-Profit Marathon Program. The Foundation is also thrilled to have Nicole as part of the team and to be sponsored in partnership with Performance Health.”

In addition to sponsoring Ms. Bucar, Performance Health has provided TheraBand, Biofreeze, Bon Vital’ and Thera?Pearl products to the entire Running for Research Team to enhance their training programs.
