The International SPA Association (ISPA) Foundation has released their annual spa industry research along with the seventh volume of the Consumer Snapshot Research, focusing on millennial spa-goers. Both studies were launched to the ISPA membership at the 2016 International SPA Association (ISPA) Conference & Expo being held at The Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada. from Sept. 13-15.
“Our annual spa industry study has shown revenue growth each of the past five years providing strong indicators of the continued future success of the spa industry,” said ISPA President Lynne McNees. “We are excited to share that both the number of spa locations and full-time employees in the United States increased in 2015, making a significant contribution to the overall economy.”
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) was commissioned to conduct both studies by the ISPA Foundation.
“Millennials will be the core spa-going generation for years to come. They see it as an integral part of their lives,” said Russell Donaldson, Senior Associate of Research with PwC.
Donaldson also added, “Most notably nearly 60 percent of the male millennial spa-going population has experienced a facial before.”
