Four Seasons Los Angeles Debuts Its Dazzling New Diamond Facial

The 60-minute service targets dull complexions.

Already the preferred destination of many a discerning Angeleno, the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills just added another incentive to visit.

Fresh off the opening of its new nail suite, the property’s spa has introduced an exclusive Diamond Youth Facial in partnership with Innovative Skincare’s results-driven iS CLINICAL line and Envy Medical’s SilkPeel Dermalinfusion machine. The 60-minute treatment ($305) is designed to brighten complexions, leaving them luminous and nourished. I may not have been shortlisted for any Oscars this year, but I was lucky enough to snag an invitation to sample the new service.

At the end of a busy work week, I stopped by the hotel, and headed straight for the fourth-floor spa. After enveloping myself in a fluffy robe, I made a beeline for the relaxation lounge, where I hovered at the snack station, unashamedly piling dark chocolate discs onto my china plate.

No sooner had I started to doze off in my La-Z-Boy than my softly spoken therapist, May, arrived to whisk me to a dimly lit treatment room, before stepping outside to allow me to slip beneath the terracotta-colored silk covers.

After discussing my skincare concerns—“Please make me glow again!”, I implored her— May began the facial with an application of iS CLINICAL’s Cleansing Complex. The next step was microdermabrasion, using the SilkPeel Dermalinfusion machine. The diamond-tip vacuum quickly got to work de-gunking my dermis as a hyaluronic acid-infused serum was simultaneously delivered into my skin, plumping fine lines and helping minimize dark spots. The equipment also helps reduce pore congestion, a perennial pet peeve of anyone who endures L.A.’s endless summer.

A final few extractions followed, then I relaxed under a layer of the brand’s divine-smelling Rejuvenating Masque while May gentle massaged my arms. Finally came the application of Hydra-Cool Serum, Youth Eye Complex and Youth Serum, with the Extreme Protect SPF 30 as a finishing touch.

As hard as it was to tear myself away from such a luxurious setting, I felt confident that the facial’s results would last. And if it was a glow I was after, I wasn’t disappointed, judging by the compliment paid to me by a well-known actress in the locker room.

Awards ceremony or not, I was clearly red-carpet ready!
