This is typically the time of year employers use to show their staff their appreciation through things like parties, bonuses and gifts.
According to CareerBuilder, 45% of employers plan to give their employees holiday bonuses this year, and 40% plan to provide the same size bonus or even higher than they did last year. Additionally, 59% of employers plan to throw a company holiday party for their staff members in December, and 35% of employers plan to give their employees holiday gifts this year.
Are you throwing a holiday bash for your staff? The good news is, it doesn’t have to break the bank—you can swing a great soiree on a budget. A recent article on Inc.com provides some guidelines on budget-conscious employee holiday parties:
- Have the party at the workplace, eliminating the need to rent a room or restaurant.
- Hold a potluck to save on food costs.
- Move your holiday party to January, when it may be cheaper and easier to find restaurants and caterers.
