Leaf Spa, located inside the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park hosted a grand opening event on Dec. 8, 2022. There were more than 150 guests in attendance, including executives from Fairmont Hotels and citywide industry professionals.
The event featured music by DJ Andrew Jensen, appetizers, a curated menu of wellness cocktails with DoTerra essential oils and a photo booth. There were tours of the spa that took place throughout the evening, led by Marizza Contreras, the spa's founder and wellness leaders, Craig Carter, co-founder and president of strategic growth.

Attendees began their experience at Leaf Spa's signature Wish Tree, where they tied a ribbon to the tree's branches, setting their intentions for their wall journey. This is a common practice for those receiving treatments at the spa location. Guests were also able to participate in the make-and-take apothecary station, which allowed them to customize their own salt and sugar scrubs.
Guests where then led to relaxation room, where they participated in a sound bowl healing meditation. To end the night, members from Leaf's team, Carter, Contreras and director of marketing and sales, Anita Rahmanthe, held a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.
The spa is the first Chicago location for the Leaf Spa brand who's intention is to bring the mind and body into alignment with nature by "shedding old leaves and blossoming anew." The wellness center offers eight treatment rooms, including one couples' room, which has a Kohler waterfall soaking tub for two. The spa also has two facial rooms and six massage rooms.
