Spa Showcase: Ciel Spa at the SLS Hotel, Beverly Hills

Even in a city filled with standout spas, Ciel’s pristine, 5,000-square-foot space is memorable. The ethereal design—courtesy of Philippe Starck— features warm white tones and billowing curtains, giving spa-goers the sensation of being enveloped in a cloud. Facilities include five treatment rooms, a couples’ suite with side-by-side tubs, and a full service hair salon. In the dreamy co-ed relaxation room, guests can nibble on healthy snacks by José Andrés, the superstar chef at the hotel’s on-site Bazaar restaurant.

Tapping into a growing trend among celebrities and red-carpet regulars, Ciel offers a range of IV Therapy Treatments, from a Hangover Relief and Cold-Flu Buster to Pre- and Post-Op Formulas. Administered by a nurse, the solutions contain vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other natural organic compounds, and are said to improve general health and overall well-being.

Signature Service

Ciel is the first hotel spa in L.A. to partner with cult French skincare line Biologique Recherche. The Ciel Custom Facial (75 min./from $200) begins with a detailed skin examination using the brand’s patented Skin Instant Lab, and follows with a personalized protocol. Also popular: Sweet Loving Souls (120 min./$700), a pampering couples’ package that incorporates an indulgent soak, glass of champagne and 90-minute signature hot stone massage for each person.
