While a man’s need to have his hair cut is universal, there are some factors that vary. Just like here in the United States, to become a barber in another country requires different levels of education and regulation. What’s more, certain trends seem to flourish in some areas and not in others. But when you get right down to it, relates Michael Damiano, a WAHL Professional artistic team member and educator who teaches around the world, barbering is universal. No matter what language you speak, barbering transcends words. “Everybody understands the language of barbering, no matter where you come from,” he says.
