What benefits do body wrap treatments offer?
Buké Batoya, owner, Bukés Salon Spa in Clarendon Hills, Illinois: We believe that the key benefit body wraps provide is deep exfoliation, resulting in smoother, softer and more hydrated skin. Clients especially prefer them after the cold and dry winter months.
Krystal Delgado, esthetician and body contouring specialist, SKiN Body Lounge in Studio City, California: Body wraps eliminate toxins that hold on to excess water and uneven fatty deposits in problem areas. Our clients love how light and relaxed—not to mention confident— they feel after receiving a wrap.
Leslie Crowell, international spa aesthetic department leader, Three-13 Salon, Spa & Boutique in Marietta, Georgia: These luxurious wellness treatments provide hydration, minerals, detoxification, firmness and smoothness for all skin types. Guests enjoy the personalized service and tension-free atmosphere, and always look forward to experiencing therapeutic results.

What are the top actives you look for in a body wrap?
Delgado: Niacin—it’s one of the best ingredients for circulation and weight loss. We specialize in helping guests lose inches or fine-tune their bodies, and we prefer the M’lis Body Contour Wrap because of its niacin content and fast results. Our clients instantly notice smoothness in their cellulite, as well as overall inch loss. Another important ingredient is aloe barbadensis juice:
It contains enzymes that help break down sugars and fats; this supports the digestive system and is therefore key to helping guests detox from the inside out.
Crowell: Seaweed is a star in my book. Our Repêchage wraps are formulated with multiple types of freshly harvested seaweed—like Laminara digitata, Ascophyllum nodosum, Fucus vesiculosus and Lithothamnium calcareum—depending on what clients are seeking to achieve. Peppermint essential oils also provide slimming, toning, firming and purifying benefits, while reducing edema and the appearance of cellulite.
Batoya: Our Pevonia De-Aging Mango- Passion Fruit Yogurt Body Wrap is rich in malic, tartaric and citric acids that work to soften dead skin cells, but the detox itself occurs while in the wrap. The cocoon causes the body to heat up and thus sweat, which naturally eliminates toxins. It also contains collagen, elastin and vitamin A, all of which encourage cell turnover and contribute to the treatment’s antiaging benefits. Together, these ingredients help the body detox for skin that looks bright, firm and refreshed.
What little extras can be added to these services to ensure the full spa experience?
Crowell: We have a menu of Power Treatments that can be added to any body wrap for the total package. Wrap services can be enhanced with: a Gomage Lip Treatment, which provides plump, soft and luxurious lips; a sinus massage to help alleviate pressure and headaches stemming from seasonal changes; face masks to efresh, exfoliate or firm the skin; and the Opti-Firm Eye Contour Treatment to diminish wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles.

Batoya: To promote relaxation, a sensory scalp massage is performed while the wrap detoxifies the guest. After a warm steam shower, a balancing toning mist is applied and lotion is massaged all over the body to complete the treatment. We recommend an express facial immediately afterward. The client’s face is cleansed, lightly exfoliated and gently massaged, followed by a mask and light moisturizer. They leave feeling rejuvenated while enjoying a complimentary organic mango iced tea.
Delgado: To provide extra love and relaxation, we offer facials, hydrating masks and even skin-tightening radiofrequency while guests receive a body wrap.
Other services we like to add include endermologie, as it breaks down cellulite and enhances results, and cavitation treatments for extra inch loss.
