Location: Motu Piti Aau, Bora Bora 98730, French Polynesia
Opened: July 2017
The Lowdown:
Located on Motu Piti Aau overlooking Bora Bora’s famed Mount Otemanu, the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa recently announced the unveiling of its 10 Pool Overwater Villas, which feature private infinity pools with panoramas of the lagoon and beach. Boasting Polynesian inspired contemporary decor, each one-bedroom villa encompasses 1,345 square feet of space, including a 645-square-foot terrace.
In addition to the new villas, the resort will debut four new Brando Overwater Suites in December. With a combined 3,400 square feet of living quarters, the suites provide a 180-degree view of Mount Otemanu, an extinct volcano at an elevation of 2,385 feet and the highest peak on the island.
Standout Features:
The resort’s Deep Ocean Spa by Algotherm utilizes Pacific Ocean extracted minerals in its signature treatments, such as the Bora Bora Bliss Massage (90 min./$258), and combines modern products with ancient Polynesian methods. The 13,200-square-foot spa houses steam baths and showers, a fitness center, tea lounge, boutique and multi-sensory outdoor spa rooms. In between treatments, clients can relax in the glass-floored overwater Spa Suites, and watch the nautical wildlife in its natural habitat. Guests can also enjoy a Black Pearl Martini in the resort’s sleek Bubbles Bar or can leave their mark with a lock of affection at the Secret Garden of Love.
