A recent study by OneBed has revealed the top tourist destinations where getting a restful night is most likely, based on factors such as average noise levels, positive hotel reviews related to sleep quality, etc.

Helsinki, Finland ranks as the most sleep-friendly destination, largely due to low noise levels, with an average of 50% positive hotel reviews regarding sleep quality. Bergen, Norway is the second destination where a good night’s sleep is almost guaranteed, with low noise levels and 48% of positive hotel reviews highlighting sleep quality. Bruges, Belgium ranks third for sleep-friendliness, with noise levels as low as 45 dBA and 50% of travelers praising the sleep quality in their accommodations.

Air quality data for the study was obtained from IQAir, while the average annual number of tourists was compiled using Statista’s tourism data. Light pollution levels and average bedtime habits were also included to assess how conducive each location is to rest. These data points were weighted and combined into a composite score, with higher scores indicating better sleep quality.
