1. National Association of Spa Franchises Welcomes New Members

Founded in 2022, NASF is commited to enhancing safety procedures in the massage and spa industry. Underscoring the importance of its mission, NASF has welcomed 10 additional massage brands to the association, from franchise brands to multi-unit wellness companies. In addition to the founding brands, which include Hand & Stone, Elements Massage, and Massage Heights, the following massage and spa companies have joined NASF to champion safety, well-being and professionalism across the industry:

  • Spavia
  • Woodhouse
  • Burke Williams
  • LaVida
  • MassageLuXe
  • Milk and Honey
  • Soothe
  • Squeeze
  • The NOW
  • Zen Massage

A key element of NASF’s work to promote safety in spas was the launch of the Employment Verification System (EVS), a program that, for the first time, allowed participating businesses the ability to capture and share important information about service providers who were separated from a spa for breach of safety protocols. In just one year, the number of searches in the EVS across brands has increased by 300%.

“With more than 40,000 searches already conducted, NASF has successfully implemented a shared platform of information regarding service providers who have a record of breaching safety protocols,” says Cindy Meiskin, president of NASF. “This has allowed the industry to ensure safer hiring practices, ultimately prioritizing the security and well-being of employees and guests alike. We are determined to eliminate inappropriate behavior at all spas and the EVS continues to greatly impact our ability to prevent further safety breaches from occurring across our systems.”

2. BizCom Associates Expands Client Roster with MassageLuXe

BizCom Associates has added spa franchise, MassageLuXe, to its growing roster of world-class clients. BizCom will use an aggressive integrated publicity and digital campaign to increase awareness of the MassageLuXe brand and its success stories. This is in addition to content creation and video services already provided by BizCom’s franchise marketing division, Brand J, which BizCom acquired earlier this year.

Founded in 2008 in St. Louis, Missouri, MassageLuXe is a rapidly expanding spa franchise known for its massage, facial and waxing services delivered in a comfortable, relaxing and luxurious environment.

"MassageLuXe is a growing powerhouse in both the massage/facial space and the highly-regarded health and wellness industry. Our team is poised to generate significant publicity, elevating brand awareness for MassageLuXe, its diverse range of services and the various health benefits they offer,” said BizCom co-founder and COO, Monica Feid. “The brand expects to hit 100 franchises in 2024 and double its size over the next three years. Inc. Magazine revealed that Prime IV Hydration & Wellness has earned the rank of No. 875 on the 2024 Inc. 5000, the publication’s annual list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. This ranking provides a data-driven look at the most successful companies within the economy’s most dynamic segment—independent, entrepreneurial businesses.

Prime IV Hydration & Wellness achieved several impressive rankings within this year’s Inc. 5000 list. The company secured the #1 spot as the fastest-growing private company in Colorado Springs, CO, ranked #12 in the Health Products category, and earned the #23 position among all companies in Colorado.

4. MY SALON Suite Ranked as a Top 20 Franchise Brand for Multi-Unit Owners by Entrepreneur

MY SALON Suite has ranked #17 on Entrepreneur’s second annual Top Brands for Multi-Unit Owners list. The recognition comes amid rapid franchise growth and major acquisitions by the brand, boosting the network to over 330 locations nationwide.

The ranking identifies the brands with the most appeal for prospective franchisees interested in multi-unit ownership, as well as existing franchisees looking to expand their portfolios. To determine the top brands for multi-unit ownership, Entrepreneur examined factors including available discounts to franchisees purchasing multiple units, the average number of units owned by each franchisee and the percentage of multi-unit franchisees in the brand’s network.

“Multi-unit franchising is a pathway to financial freedom, offering diversified revenue streams and reduced dependence on the performance of a single location,” said Mark Jameson, chief development officer of Propelled Brands. “Ranking amid the top 20 of such a prestigious ranking underscores the strength of the MY SALON Suite business model and the incredible growth potential of the brand. As we continue our nationwide expansion, we look forward to providing further opportunities for entrepreneurs to grow their portfolios and build their businesses.”
