What was your first job in spa and wellness?
I started my career as a massage therapist at Walt Disney World’s Resort spas, then inspired by my experience, I added an esthetic license and performed a variety of services as a dual licensed therapist.
What do you love most about the industry?
I love that our industry is about helping others, whether it’s physical or mental well-being. For some, you are the only person they have had the opportunity to connect with.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Vegan nitrogen ice cream made with coconut milk from a local shop.
What new wellness trends do you find most exciting?
There are a few right now. Community-based beauty and wellness helps meet the growing demand for connection that increased due to the pandemic. Companies with purpose and real roots are linking their traditions into their products and services. Everyone is looking for high quality ingredients thanks to a rising consciousness of what we put on our body in the same way as we do with food. Tracing sources and origins, and creating products with less water and plastic is also exciting to see.
What’s one thing you can’t leave the house without?
Well, I have two things: my yoga mat and a large tumbler with filtered water.
Who inspires you?
My late husband David Bremer; he will always be my inspiration.
What is the best part of your job?
My career has provided me with so many experiences, and I truly enjoy helping every guest. We’re in such a special industry, it’s a true privilege to have the opportunity to provide an important service for so many people.
What is on your bucket list?
I want to scuba dive in the Maldives, go on an African safari, visit a traditional onsen (Japanese hot springs) in the countryside and to get back on the Appalachian trail.
What’s on the horizon for Pure Fiji?
We are introducing a waterless, nurturing bath oil-to-milk, a Hyaluronic Booster, a Regenerative Night Creme with sleep benefits and a few more exciting things. It’s another fun year!
